ARTIST Q&A

Born: Columbus, OH
Currently lives: Boston, MA

Title of artwork: Tagus

What’s it about?  Tagus is a simple, fun exploration of the way color and negative space can create a full portrait and mood.

Where else can we find your work? On my Instagram @jordandaleyoung and website www.jordandaleyoung.com

Where do you find inspiration and who are a few artists you admire? I find sculptures of bodies really beautiful and inspiring. The shapes are so elegant that it makes me want to transform them through my own style. Fashion, particularly the way clothes move, is also very visually interesting to me.

Some of my favorite artists are Malika Favre — the most elegant illustrator I’ve ever seen — and Clemens Behr — an installation artist who explores geometry through three-dimensional space.

If you could invite one person to dinner (dead or alive) who would it be? Lorne Michaels.

What is your spirit animal? A monkey who has a lot of dogs as best friends

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Never needing sleep

Favorite place to eat in Allston? Roxy’s!

Favorite public art piece in the Boston area? Okuda San Miguel’s work in Seaport
