ARTIST Q&A

Born: Raleigh, NC
Currently lives: Boston, MA

Title of artwork: City Love

What’s it about? This piece is inspired by the things I love about this urban landscape. It is a collage of images I created with watercolors, printmaking and drawing. Spring is my favorite season here.

Where else can we find your work? You can find a glass mural at the Gardner museum, two large commissioned pieces in the North End for the Barr Foundation and my largest mural to date at the Northeastern University campus. Also online, I keep Instagram and my site pretty up to date.

Where do you find inspiration and who are a few artists you admire? Music, nature, everyday moments and long hot showers! I admire artists who can navigate the combined effort of following their passion and the business of art, defying the odds to succeed as art entrepreneurs and actually make a living from their creative endeavors.

If you could invite one person to dinner (dead or alive) who would it be? My handsome talented husband. We haven’t seen much of each other this year!

What is your spirit animal? Tiger

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
To make people feel empathy.

Favorite place to eat in Allston? I am a big fan of Vietnamese, Korean and Indian. Depends on the mood!

Favorite public art piece in the Boston area? ‘Patterned Behavior’ on the Charles River Esplanade bike path. It is close to my heart and makes me smile every time I see it.
