TYLER BLINDERMAN

Tyler is a visual designer, illustrator, and hand letterer living in Boston. She is also the creator and curator of the Like a Girl zine, which features female-identifying artists of any and all mediums. She is always trying to learn and evolve as an artist and as an individual. Tyler is passionate about using art as a platform for growth and social advocacy. When not creating, she can be found lounging with her cat, Morty, and enjoying a sour beer.

Title of artwork: The Art of Letting Go

What’s it about?  This piece was inspired by the quote from Xan Oku. It’s a great synchronicity between personal growth and nature.

Where do you find inspiration and who are a few artists you admire? I find a lot of inspiration in growth, human interaction, and current events. I frequent sites such as Communication Arts, etc. A few artists I admire are Jessica Hische, Lauren Hom, Gemma O’Brien, and Bodil Jane.

If you could invite one person to dinner (dead or alive) who would it be? David Lynch, so he can explain Twin Peaks to me.

What is your spirit animal? Ruth Bader Ginsburg

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Time Travel

Favorite place to eat in Allston? The Breakfast Club

Favorite public art piece in the Boston area? I really love Chris Delorenzo’s Walls on Western mural, “All That Empty Space”
