BRATTLE FILM FESTIVAL

In September 2016 The Brattle Theater presented a special pair of outdoor screenings in Barry’s Corner. Both evenings featured food and fun as well as a cult classic movie, presented on the big screen for all to enjoy! Thanks to our friends Aeronaut Brewing for pouring beers and the mini-arcade by BitBar Salem!

Saturday, September 17, 2016:

FLASH GORDON (1980) A campy and colorful tribute to movie serials and Sunday comics, FLASH GORDON sends an all-American dude into space to combat Ming the Merciless, a nefarious dictator bent on destruction. Featuring a legendary hard rock soundtrack by Queen! “FLASH! A-Ah! Savior of the Universe!”

Sunday, September 18, 2016:

THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION (1984) A cult classic featuring the world’s only crime-fighting rock star/rocket scientist/brain surgeon, Buckaroo Banzai, who takes on a group of evil aliens from the Eighth Dimension lead by the maniacal Dr. Emilio Lizardo (John Lithgow in a hilariously over-the-top performance). Plus, Jeff Goldblum, so you know it’s good…

Both screenings take place at 267 Western Ave in Allston.

This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bike, walk, or ride the T to this event. Limited parking is only available on Western Ave and N. Harvard St. Parking on “Resident Only” streets is strictly enforced. Please bring your own chair, blanket, pillows, or other seating. Both films are rated PG.
