YELLOW TREE INSTALLATION

January 2016

“Yellow Tree” was created by Boston artist, Zacharie Lanoue. Lanoue uses an advanced technique he calls “Landscan,” which the artist developed and adapted from the scientific image-making process used to create photo maps. “Yellow Tree” was composed by collaging hundreds of photos of the same subject to create realistic abstractions of a single Maple tree. The subject of the tree represents deep community rootedness as well as a sense of constant growth upward and branching outward. The changing leaves mark the seasonal lifecycle – leaves grow, change color and fall to the ground to return anew next season. At nearly life size, we hope “Yellow Tree” offers you a new way to view the world around you.
