LIMITED EDITION POSTERS BY A LOCAL ARTIST FOR 25 CENTS

Art in Print is a program of Zone 3, designed to make buying art more accessible to the public. Newspaper bins around Western Ave in Allston contain a limited release of posters available to purchase for 25¢.

Since the launch of this initiative in October 2018 we’ve worked with over 90 local artists and are thrilled to bring you ten new pieces of collectable artwork.

MEET THE ARTISTS

LINDSEY BOSS

Lindsey has been addicted to collaging and collecting vintage books and magazines since graduation Mass College of Art in 2008. Her collages are a way of processing all of life’s experiences. In sharing them, she hopes to evoke feelings in the viewers, and reassurance that they should let themselves feel whatever it is they do.

ADAM CAVALIER

Adam goes by The Trash Bandit as an artist. He created his street art character The Trash Bandit just over 2 years ago. He considers himself a mixed media street artist. He has done some small canvas work in addition to making stickers and paste ups. He creates works digitally or by hand to create stickers and paste ups for the streets and sent to festivals around the world. Work has been featured at Art Basel Miami, DC Street Sticker Expo 5.0, and in Street Character Chronicles Vol. 1.

RYAN TAFT

Ryan is a multidisciplinary creative. That focuses on visual art ranging in mediums from sculpture, painting, illustration, and design. Much of his work revolves around different subcultures.

SAMI MARTASIAN

Sami Martasian is an illustrator and musician living in Brighton MA.Their work, mostly autobiographical, explores themes of selfhood, connection to nature and existing in the world as a trans Armenian person who cant help but see the beauty in everything

RICK PINCHERA

Rick Pinchera is an illustrator and visual designer who has been at it for over 25 years. He has collaborated on projects with all kinds of organizations including The Boston Globe, PBS, The Boston Red Sox, MIT, The Humane Society and Google. Rick’s work is informed by his love of the comics, music and general pop culture of his youth.

ABBY RAISZ

Abby is a hand embroidery artist based in Jamaica Plain, specializing in detailed threadpaintings of birds and other fauna. Driven by her family’s obsession with Massachusetts wildlife, she shows that embroidery is the perfect medium for birds, each stitch mimicking the texture and depth of bird feathers. She has stitched over 20 different bird species (and counting!)

ZHIXIN LIN

Zhixin is a multidisciplinary artist and designer. In her art practice, she is passionate about leveraging computation and algorithms in the process of multi-media art creation.

SUMI DEY

Sumi is an abstract artist and designer who uses art and technology to create immersive, joyful spaces. Her artistic work is an imaginative exploration of nature, celestial bodies, and the perceived energies of others. As a designer, Sumi collaborates with non-profits, local progressive movements, and women-owned businesses to amplify their messaging through vibrant and accessible design. She is proud to be a Queens native and an Aries with an endless appetite for picking up new projects and artistic mediums.

MARIESSA DEVINCENTIS

Mariessa is a multidisciplinary artist with a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She loves the animals, great food, horror, learning new things and hoarding art supplies. JENN EVANS

Jenn Evans, the artist behind Half Seven Projects, is a painter, illustrator, designer, and all-around maker. She loves to experiment with different techniques and materials, but she has always come back to gouache for the past ten years. Heavily inspired by alternative music and the paranormal, these two areas inform her work the most. When she’s not creating in her space at Joy Street Studios in Somerville, she can be found yelling along to music in the middle of a concert crowd, exploring various parts of Boston and nearby towns or indulging in paranormal podcasts and books.
