A SOUND MAPPING WORKSHOP

SUNDAY, MAY 21, 2023

12-1:30 PM AT 267 WESTERN AVE

What are the special sounds that surround us? What sounds define your special place? Is it the sound of drip coffee? Your partner’s voice? Sometimes, the simplest sounds are the most remarkable. Olivia and Renate led attendees through listening exercises and map-making activities that taught us about the unique sounds in Allston.

Olivia Cosío (she/her) is a singer and educator who specializes in designing arts education programs for both schools and cultural institutions, focusing on play-based learning through sound and music. Olivia is currently an Ed.M. candidate at The Harvard Graduate School of Education, concentrating in Arts & Learning.

Outside of her career passions, Olivia loves hosting dinner parties and collecting random objects that kids can make noise with.
