Co-hosted by A Trike Called Funk, the “Soul Controller” jam brings together 100+ movers & shakers from a cross-section of Boston’s street & club dance community every other month.

For this special “Festivo” edition of our jam, we teamed up with friends from the Latin dance community to push musical boundaries & move even more bodies. From Funk to Hip Hop to House with a Latin twist plus Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, y mas, we enjoyed a Latin dance lesson with friends and neighbors.

It’s free, it’s fun, it’s “Festivo” for the people!

A Trike Called Funk is a Boston-based creative venture co-founded in July 2021 by MC & Dance Lead Aaron Myers and DJ Edward Galan, whose community-based activations feature music genres & dance forms spanning the African diaspora in the Americas. Together with other local artists specializing in complementary types of music and dance, we orchestrate interactive arts experiences in public settings around our one-of-a-kind front-loading cargo tricycle, which is equipped with its own portable dance floor, power source, DJ equipment, and sound system. A Trike Called Funk’s overarching aim is to unleash creativity, foster connectivity, and build community everywhere we pedal & park.
