ARTIST Q&A
Born: Jacksonville, FL
Currently lives: Brookline, MA
Title of artwork: Mental Break
What’s it about? I have about 6 different unfinished novels I have been trying to get through all year. Each one is a different genre, and I pick up the one I feel most like reading at the time. The result is an overwhelming need to finish every different story all at once. In my life, I have many different roles I take on. Sometimes it is hard to be everything I need to be all at once and I end up feeling stretched too thin. This illustration is about the fact that it is okay every now and then to stop, take a break, and realize that story knows you are trying your best to get to the end.
Where else can we find your work? I post all my projects, personal and commissioned, to my Instagram and website.
Where is your favorite public art piece in the area? The minion that was spray painted on the side of my apartment when I lived on the corner of Pratt and Linden Street in Allston.
What would your last meal be? Carolina style BBQ, baked mac n cheese, coleslaw, collard greens, and a large sweet tea.
Go-to karaoke song? “Rhinestone Cowboy” by Glen Campbell.
Favorite place for a drink in Allston? Deep Ellum’s back patio in the summer, Hopewell in the winter.
Top fall bucket list item? Go trick or treating with my boyfriend and his 6 year old son and get ALL the candy.
