As a self-taught artist, she draws inspiration from personal experiences & the women she encounters daily. Her work is often described as powerful, vibrant, & authentic. Ambrojah considers herself an advocate of self love, sexual freedom & body positivity. Her mission is to encourage women to do whatever the F*$?! they want & this message is clear with each body of work.

Title of artwork: “I’ll take care of you.”

What’s it about? This piece is really an ode to self care and how important it is. How important seeing yourself is. I added little details in the bathroom to display your home being your safe space. Space for rest, for reflection, for YOU.

Where have you been finding inspiration as an artist lately? I have been finding inspiration through creatives of any kind. Seeing kind. Seeing creatives’ work through such uncertain times has been so inspiring.

One thing you learned about your self or creative practice during COVID-19? That the creative mind is an amazing one. I’ve been home for months and my imagination and creative progression has reached heights I would have never imagined.

Where is your favorite public art piece in the area? All of the them. I can’t pick. They all tell a different story.

What would your last meal be? Soul food!
