ARTIST Q&A
Born: Baltimore, MD
Currently lives: Cambridge, MA
Title of artwork: Personal Space
What’s it about? Personal Space is an interpretation of life in the modern era. Figures are placed discordantly in a multitude of colors to convey the bumbling nature of navigating the world together but separate. The figures come together in an aesthetically pleasing manner to illustrate compatibility in a nuanced manner.
Where else can we find your work? My social media and website and around town if you keep your eyes open!
Where have you been finding inspiration as an artist lately? Our ever-changing landscape here in the Boston area. Staples that we have taken for granted disappearing before our eyes.
One thing you learned about your self or creative practice during COVID-19? To always seek to expand my horizons! I have picked up new skills with all the free time I had quarantining and in turn learned that all of these can be interwoven and make me think in new ways.
Where is your favorite public art piece in the area? Graffiti Alley! I walk through there almost daily and it’s an ever changing, almost interactive, tunnel of art filled with amazing local artists that give off a strong sense of community. I love to see people admiring their creations in real time.
What would your last meal be? Cheesecake, specifically from Shaw’s and still partially frozen, I’m not fussy.
Go-to karaoke song? White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane
Title / Author you would choose if it was your turn to host Book Club? My Friend Anna by Rachel DeLoache Williams- what a bizarre ride.
Favorite take-out spot in Allston/Brighton? S&I Thai has never not exceeded my expectations
