ARTIST Q&A

Born: Unknown

Currently lives: Jamaica Plain

Title of artwork: For The Old Man

What’s it about? I made this piece in memory of Jake Phelps, the editor of thrasher magazine. Jake had the mentality of an older brother that would mess with you to make you better, push you to do things way outside your comfort zone but with the intention for you to progress and become better. I was fortunate enough to skate with him a few times, and it did have a lasting impression on me as an artist. Jake helped shape what skateboarding is today, and without skateboarding, I would not be a working creative. Skateboarding introduced me to everything I love in music, art, design, and everything else I’m interested in.
