CHRIS ANTONELLIS

Chris Antonellis is an emerging collage artist currently living and working in Allston/Brighton Massachusetts. All work produced is analog mixed media collage, combining aged paper and imagery from vintage magazines with graffiti / street art aesthetic and neon colors. The intention of the work is to impart a feeling of dreamlike utopia using imagery of surreal landscapes with very little intended meaning. The meaning applied by the viewer creates a narrative that allows the pieces to feel extremely personal in a way unique to each person who views them.

ARTIST Q&A

Born: Malden, MA
Currently lives: Brighton, MA

Title of artwork: Construction Crew

What’s it about? There is an intentional balance between masculine and feminine and they are separated by a non-gendered machine. All are presented as attractive and desirable. The scene makes no sense but alludes to having meaning, so it tickles that sweet spot where the viewer searches for meaning but ends up developing their own narrative.
