ARTIST Q&A

Born: Franklin, MA

Currently lives: Boston, MA

Title of artwork: Moving and Grooving

What’s it about? This piece uses one of my favorite color palettes to work with. I wanted to create a pattern that had a lot of movement to it and really drew the eye a bit closer to each detail. I love making up my own plants and flowers, something that this piece has a lot of.

Where else can we find your work? I stay pretty active on my instagram but you can also find me on Etsy! My shop name is Reasofsunshineco. There you can shop prints, stickers, and other gifts.

Where have you been finding inspiration as an artist lately? Lately I’ve been getting a lot of inspiration from motifs found in American traditional tattoos. Bold colors alongside images of animals, roses, skulls, etc. It’s right up my alley.

Favorite holiday tradition? I love wrapping Christmas presents. Finding the perfect wrapping paper and bows to match is something I find so much joy in. I always want my gifts to look straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie.

One new thing or practice that has been bringing you joy during COVID-19? Cooking has been my saving grace during COVID-19. I’ve been obsessed with my slow cooker lately, so any kind of soup or stew recipe has my name all over it.

Where is your favorite public art piece in the area? “Day and Night” (aka the big baby head sculptures) on the MFA lawn holds a special place in my heart.

What would your last meal be? Cheese fries, crab rangoons, fettuccine alfredo, and fried chicken
