Okiest Dokiest is Adam Zapotok’s Alias. He is a professional doodler, a digital fabricator, maker, life long learner and the wizard that drives the magic pencil truck. In the last few years Adam has focused his work in minimalistic illustrations, miniatures, and 3d printing. In the Fall Adam is very excited for his next magic trick, opening the Digital Fabrication Labs at mass art end helping other manifest their ideas into physical reality.

What’s it about? Metacognition means thinking about thinking. Directing your thoughts consistently rewires your brain and recreates the lens you see the world through. I hope I can help others and bring some positive energy into their lives and the lives around them.
Where else can we find your work? You can find it driving around Boston (The Magic Pencil Truck). You can also find me vending at art sales around greater Boston.
Where is your favorite public art piece in the area?Gift of the Wind is a large-scale public kinetic sculpture, by Susumu Shingu, at the porter square station.
Who is your favorite Boston-area artist to follow? I Anne Lilly
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? Swimming in open water or working on a project with friends.
What was your top song for 2021? First Chakra keynote C (red) by Stephen Halpern, Iasos
Favorite food spot in in Allston, Brighton or the surrounding area? Andy’s Diner in Cambridge or Mike’s Donuts in Mission Hill.
What have you learned about your creative practice in recent years? Organization is non-negotiable.
What is a piece of advice you would give to your past self as a young artist? Carry a notebook, never draw on looseleaf paper. Document your ideas.
What is your dream project to work on?To work with a team of engineers, artists, and friends to design and build an invention to catch an entire cloud.
